Following on from ‘Flesh & Blood’, MAX RAD has finally released ‘Play Dead’, which was in fact written around the same time. With excellent production and an interesting story of cutting loose from something that has you in its hold; this may be the songwriter's best track yet. Of writing, he says, “There has only ever been one version of this track, there's often a kind of magic in capturing a song in its embryonic stages that you can't seem to recreate, so I finished it down there and it actually hasn't changed since”. Built on laid back, jazzy electronic beats and wobbly synths, hopefully this track shows us the sort of thing to come on his upcoming debut EP. - Dan Peeke
